Receiving a standing ovation from the star-studded crowd, comedian Jerry Lewis stepped up to the podium, accepting the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award for his work with the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Lewis, who has served as national chairman to the organization since 1952, has helped raise over $2 billion.
Ledger Family Accepts Oscar® for Heath

Heath Ledger was posthumously honored by the Academy for his role as the Joker in The Dark Knight. At the Kodak Theater to accept the prestigious Best Supporting Actor award on behalf of Ledger's 3-year-old daughter Matilda was the late star's mother Sally, father Kim and sister Kate.
