Will Whitney Houston's daughter, Bobbi Kristina follow in her mothers footsteps and become a singer? INSIDE EDITION reports.
In a haunting echo of her mother's talent, Whitney Houston's 18-year-old daughter Bobbi Kristina sang Adele's hit song, "Someone like You" just 5 months ago.
Bobbi Kristina posted it herself on Twitter, and now the whole world is asking, will she follow in her mother's footsteps and pursue a career as a singer?
Bobbi Kristina has been in the public spotlight since before she could walk. She wasn't even a year old when her mom carried her onstage at the American Music Awards in 1994.
She was five when she danced with Houston during a live performance in Germany.
Singer Kim Burrell, one of Houston's closest friends, said "Whitney had just recently started Bobbi Kristina in some training lessons because Bobbi has such a great interest in singing and performing."
Burrell will be singing at her funeral.
INSIDE EDITION's Megan Alexander asked, "Bobbi Kristina has a beautiful voice, what do you know about her role in her mother's funeral?"
"If she will have the strength to just walk in there, I think that would be enough," responded Burrell.
Now there are fears that Bobbi Kristina may follow in her mother's footsteps in other, more disturbing ways. Last year she was photographed snorting what appears to be cocaine in photos published by the National Enquirer. The teenager claims she was set up by a boyfriend.
Alexander asked, "Do you fear that Bobbi Kristina will need to fight off those same demons that her mother did?"
"Probably not as hard, or not at all even. The reason I say that with confidence is because one of the last conversations that Bobbi Kristina and I had one-on-one she is very determined to make sure that her mother was okay," said Burrell.
Houston's longtime friend, singer Chaka Khan, told CNN that she's going to do everything in her power to make sure Bobbi Kristina doesn't go down the wrong path.
"I'm concerned," said Khan, "the big thing we have to do now is make sure this whole scenario doesn't repeat itself and that Bobbi Kristina is handled."
In an interview airing next Monday on Anderson Cooper's daytime talk show, Janet Jackson says that Bobbi Kristina needs to somehow get past her grief.
"It sounds so mean, but you have to move on, you can't hold onto that because it can be very devastating," said Jackson.
