Barbara Walters revealed more information about the battle between the new American Idol divas, Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj. INSIDE EDITION has the details.
Barbara Walters dropped a bombshell on Thursday's episode of The View. She said she spoke with an emotional Mariah Carey Thursday morning, who told her that she's hired extra security in the wake of that explosive war of words on the closed set of American Idol.
“Nicki is unpredictable. And Mariah says, she can't take a chance and she has hired extra security,” said Walters.
The argument happened during American Idol auditions in Charlotte, North Carolina, when Minaj launched a foul-mouthed tirade at Carey, as seen in a video leaked to TMZ.
Walters mentioned. “She said that when Nicki walked off the set, multiple people heard Nicki say, 'If I had a gun, I would shoot the [expletive] bitch.' She said there were staff members who heard her, hair dressers, producers, and multiple people. She said she's very concerned.”
After watching The View, Minaj went on Twitter to deny the death threat: "ironically no camera or mic heard the gun comment tho. Lol. Not even the producers believed u. I thought we resolved it yesterday but i see you want your pity party to continue."
Walters said, “There was a meeting yesterday morning. After the meeting, Nicki said to Mariah, ‘I love you, but we might fight again.’ Mariah responded, ‘No, we will not.’”
INSIDE EDITION is also hearing from Keith Urban who squirmed uncomfortably between the dueling divas. He said he was just trying to keep the peace.
Urban said, “Playing the UN. It is great. We are all passionate people and we're learning a new dance and we're all a work in progress.”
There had been speculation that the cat fight was a set-up to build up interest in American Idol. But that was before Mariah opened up to Barbara Walters.
