While Miss Connecticut was crowned Miss USA at the annual pageant held in Las Vegas, it was another contestant that drew much attention. INSIDE EDITION has the scoop.
There's a new Miss USA. She is Miss Connecticut Erin Brady.
Brady took the crown at the competition in Las Vegas Sunday night.
She is an accountant with a degree in finance. She wore an orange bikini during the swimsuit competition.
However, the show might best be remembered for the interview portion. It was a question posed by reality TV star NeNe Leakes to Miss Utah that gained much attention.
Leake asked, "Women are the primary earners, yet, they continue to earn less than men. What does this say about society?"
Miss Utah responded, "I think we can relate this back to education and how we are continuing to try to strive to figure out how to create jobs right now. I think that is the biggest problem. I think especially the men are seen as the leaders of this and I think we need to try to figure out how to create education better, so that we can solve this problem. Thank you."
The rambling answer is being compared to the infamous pageant moment from 2007 involving Miss Teen South Carolina.
As for 21-year-old Miss Utah, she did not go home empty handed. She was voted most photogenic.
