Whoopi Goldberg was missing from her seat on The View when Samantha Geimer appeared to discuss her book about Roman Polanski. INSIDE EDITION has the details.
Did Whoopi Goldberg snub the woman at the center of one of Hollywood's most notorious scandals?
Samantha Geimer was 13 years old when she was drugged and raped by famed director Roman Polanski. Now, 36 years later, she has finally written her story called: The Girl, A Life in the Shadow of Roman Polanski.
But when she appeared on The View to promote the book—Whoopi was noticeably absent.
In the past, Whoopi has come under fire for apparently coming to Polanski's defense.
In 2009, Goldberg said, "Well I know it wasn't rape, rape. It was something else. I dont' believe it was that kind of rape."
Now, some say Goldberg snubbed Geimer to avoid a messy confrontation. Geimer arrived—where was Goldberg? Her absence is the talk of Twitter.
Why didn't Goldberg want to interview the girl Polanski raped?
Geimer said she had a friendly conversation with Goldberg back stage and has no hard feelings about that 'rape, rape' comment.
"I knew exactly what she meant—she meant it wasn't like a violent attack," said Geimer.
The cover of Geimer's book shows a photo of her at age 13—it was taken by Polanski just days before he assaulted her.
"I don't have any bad feelings towards him anymore. We've both been through a lot because of this," confessed Geimer.
