Golden Globes Sparkle In Hollywood

The 71st annual Golden Globe Awards which honors the best in movies and TV lived up to its reputation as Hollywood's biggest party of the year.

The party began right on the red carpet. INSIDE EDITION caught old friends Julia Roberts and Emma Thompson running into each other. Glamorous couple Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber grabbed mini bottles of champagne. And Sandra Bullock stopped in her tracks to wave hello.

But moments before the celebs were set to arrive, a sprinkler malfunction put a serious damper on last-minute preparations. A cascade of water flooded a third—yes, a third—of the red carpet!

Luckily, things were dry for the parade of pregnant stars. Nominee Kerry Washington proudly showed off her baby bump. Glowing Drew Barrymore wore a floral dress by Monique Lhuillier. Olivia Wilde looked fierce in her shimmering Gucci gown.

Some of TV's biggest names stopped by to say hello to INSIDE EDITION. Hayden Panettiere told Deborah Norville, "If it's too good to be true, someone made a mistake."

Zooey Deschanel told Norville, "I feel so lucky. I'm so excited!"

Breaking Bad may be over, but the hit TV show is still winning awards. INSIDE EDITION's Jim Moret told Bryan Cranston, "It's nice to see you with hair. It's been a long time."

Cranston replied, "Isn't it? It came back! I love hair."

Also on the red carpet, The Wolf of Wall Street's super-hot Margot Robbie. We asked her about the 506 curse words in the movie.

Robbie told Deborah Norville, "We knew we were swearing a lot when we were filming it. We actually joked, 'I think we might win the record.' "

Dynamic duo Tina Fey and Amy Poehler were back hosting for the second year in a row. So, how'd they do? Their old boss at SNL, Lorne Michaels, was absolutely right—Tina and Amy didn't disappoint.

Michaels said, "They know what they're doing. They're great. I saw them yesterday and they're on it."

In the show, Fey joked, "Gravity is nominated for Best Film. It's a story of how George Clooney would rather float away into space and die than spend one more minute with a woman his own age."

Now, the reviews are in. "Tina Fey And Amy Poehler Are Golden As Hosts," says the New York Daily News headline.

"Their jokes didn't cross any lines but were also not soft, and that's a very difficult recipe to master," says The Hollywood Reporter.

Amy got quite a shock when she won Best Actress in a Comedy Series for Parks and Recreation.

"This is so cliché, but you get really nervous," said Poehler.

Tina Fey took a shot at Taylor Swift when she congratulated her friend, saying, "I love you. There's a special place in hell for you."

That's what Taylor Swift said about the funny ladies after they made fun of her love life during last year's Golden Globes when they joked, "You know what Taylor Swift, you stay away from Michael J. Fox's son." Swift told Vanity Fair magazine last year, stating, "There's a special place in hell for women who don't help other women."

Jennifer Lawrence won a Golden Globe for the second year in a row, this time for American Hustle. Lawrence said at the podium, "I'm sorry I'm shaking. Don't ever do this again. This is so scary!" Her co-star, Amy Adams also won gold.

This year we had a high tech way for the stars to send special messages to their fans. We call them Golden Doodles and Jim Moret was in our one-on-one room backstage where we gave the winner our own award in the form of a special cake provided by the Butter End Cakery in Los Angeles. Then, they went to our electronic doodle board to sign in for our INSIDE EDITION viewers.

Best Actor for Behind the Candelabra Michael Douglas wrote: "Too much of a good thing is wonderful," Liberace's most famous quote.

Douglas attended solo, but told us that his sometimes troubled marriage to Catherine Zeta-Jones is going strong. She just stayed home to take care of the kids.

"Catherine and I are well. It's always easier when both people want to work something out. So, I'm very positive," said Douglas.

The stars of Dallas Buyers Club won two of the night's big acting awards, and they both stopped by our one-on-one room.

Moret asked Matthew McConaughey, "How did you feel when you heard your name read?"

McConaughey said, "Surprised. I heard 'Ma.' Then I heard applause and I laid my head back and I had to go through the other four names and one of them started with an M and an A and I looked around and I was like, okay."

Elisabeth Moss was still shaking after her Best Actress win for the Sundance Channel's Top Of The Lake.

Moss told INSIDE EDITION, "I don't know. I think it's a mistake. I'm going to go give it back. I'm going to give it Helen Mirren. She's at my table. I'm just going to go and put in it front of her."

Moret said, "I'm going to pretend I'm your agent or your dad and say, 'Elizabeth, you are good enough. You deserve to be here.' "

Moss replied, "Thank you."

Not everything goes as planned on this live awards show. Sixty-nine-year-old Jacqueline Bisset had a long, long, walk to the podium when she won for she won Best Supporting Actress for the miniseries Dancing on the Edge. It took a while for her to collect her thoughts, and when she did, she dropped a curse word.

Bissett told Jim Moret, "I don't remember really what I said."

Moret laughed, saying, "You said a couple of things that had to be bleeped."

"You're joking," said a surprised Bissett.

Backstage she had a little trouble with our golden doodle board.

Best actress winner for House of Cards Robin Wright had a near wardrobe malfunction when her gown slipped, but thankfully she was wearing body tape.

Woody Allen was given a Lifetime Achievement Award and as expected, the reclusive director was a no-show, but Diane Keaton, his star from Annie Hall, picked up the honor for him. Thirty-seven years after Diane Keaton starred in her most famous role, Annie Hall, the actress gave a sweet tribute to the controversial director, singing a Girl Scout song.

But it did not sit well with Woody Allen's ex, Mia Farrow, who tweeted this as soon as the tribute started: "Time to grab some ice cream and switch over to #girls." HBO's Girls was airing at the same time.

Woody's son with Mia Farrow, Ronan Farrow, was even harsher: "Missed the Woody Allen tribute - did they put the part where a woman publicly confirmed he molested her at age 7 before or after Annie Hall?"

Woody has always denied he molested any underage child.
 
Best Dramatic movie went to 12 Years a Slave, directed by Steve McQueen.

Norville said to McQueen, "Your movie has touched people in a way that few films have done this year."

"I'm grateful," said McQueen.

The biggest surprise of the night was when Fox's freshman comedy Brooklyn Nine-Nine won Best Comedy series and star Andy Samberg also won Best Comedic Actor. His former SNL alum Seth Meyers was very happy to give him the award.
