President Obama appeared on Zach Galifianakis' popular webcast, Between Two Ferns and takes on the role of Comedian in Chief. INSIDE EDITION has the story.
President Obama was interviewed by comedian Zach Galifianakis on his Funny or Die webcast, Between Two Ferns.
Galifianakis asked, "What's it like to be the last black president?"
Obama replied, "Seriously? What's it like for this to be the last time you ever talk to a president?"
Galifianakis really stuck it to Obama and the president zinged him right back with perfect comic timing.
"It must really stink that you can't run three times," said Galifianakis.
Obama replied, "Actually, I think that's a good idea. If I ran a third time, it'd be like doing a third Hangover movie. Didn't really work out very well, did it?"
Then, Galifianakis asked, "Where do plan on building your presidential library, Hawaii or your home country of Kenya?"
Obama said, "Zach, that is a ridiculous question."
Galifianakis then asked, "Where is your birth certificate? You never really produced that, did you?"
Obama struck back, saying, "Where's your birth certificate?"
The interview was shot two weeks ago on a set made to look as low-budget as possible. It even included a strip of masking tape holding the president's microphone in place.
The comedian even went so far as to call the president a "nerd,” saying, "You said if you had a son you would not let him play football. What makes you think he would want to play football? What if he was a nerd like you?"
Obama said, "Do you think a woman like Michelle would marry a nerd? Why don't you ask her if I’m a nerd?"
The conflict grew so convincing, Gayle King wondered if Obama was really steamed up. On CBS This Morning, she said, “He seemed a tad irritated!"
But it was all in fun, with a purpose to spread the message of Obamacare to young people who are big fans of the show.
Galifianakis joked, "Let's get this out of the way, what are you here to plug?"
Obama then asked, "Have you heard of the Affordable Care Act?"
"Yeah I have heard about that. That's the thing that doesn't work," said Galifianakis.
Obama declared, "Healthcare.gov works great now!"
Then, there was a punchline when the president pressed a button which called for the curtain to drop and reveals the Diplomatic Room.
Obama then asked, "You've been shooting these shows here in the diplomatic room? Who gave him permission to do that?"
Galifianakis replied, "Bush."
