A close friend of Gwyneth Paltrow told People magazine that the actress and her husband had an open marriage before their divorce announcement. INSIDE EDITION has the story.
INSIDE EDITION is learning more about what led to the split between Gwyneth Paltrow and her rock star husband, Chris Martin.
"How It All Fell Apart" is the headline in the new People magazine.
Reporter Patrick Gomez of People magazine told INSIDE EDITION, "They did work on their relationship throughout the years. They did admit that it was never easy. Ultimately, they decided they would be happier consciously uncoupling."
A close friend of Paltrow tells the mag, despite their issues, they struggled to stay together: "They have been on and off for many years. The marriage was falling apart." And that friend says she and Chris had an "open" marriage.
Gomez said, "A friend did tell People that Gwyneth is not someone who is very jealous or territorial. Gwyneth herself has said in interviews in the past that she would be very forgiving if cheating did happen in the relationship."
Time spent apart because of their busy careers didn't help either. "They were physically separated and emotionally," said the magazine.
Another source told the magazine that Paltrow has been increasingly anxious about aging and has been going out "Flirting, feeling sexy just to feel like her beauty was not fleeting."
There's more about Paltrow in the new issue of People on stands Friday.
Paltrow and Martin have both denied they were unfaithful.
