A nun got on stage and belted out pop tunes on the Italian version of The Voice. Now, Sister Cristina Scuccia has become a worldwide sensation. INSIDE EDITION has the scoop.
Sister Cristina Scuccia is the singing nun! She has become a worldwide sensation since she first appeared on the Italian version of The Voice.
Her songs are pop hits like “Girls Just Want to Have Fun.”
But she's still a nun at heart and still wears her sensible shoes. She even has other nuns cheering for her in the stands.
Alicia Keys is a fan. She tweeted: "Now, that's what beautiful, pure energy looks like! Sing it, Sister Cristina!"
Ratings are through the roof for 25-year-old Sister Cristina. She's even landed on the front page of Wednesday’s New York Times. One of her YouTube clips has had more than 48 million hits and counting.
Some say her performances are inappropriate, but fans are clearly having 'nun' of that.
