Christian Bale plays Moses in the upcoming film Exodus: Gods and Kings, and his comments about the biblical character is sparking controversy.
Exodus: Gods and Kings stars Oscar winner Christian Bale, but what he's saying about his character Moses is causing a firestorm.
Bale said, "I think the man was likely schizophrenic and was one of the most barbaric individuals that I ever read about in my life." [Source: ChristianityToday.com]
Mary Murphy, Senior Lecturer, USC Annenberg School told INSIDE EDITION, "Where did Christian Bale get his Ph.D in Religious Studies?"

INSIDE EDITION spoke to pastor Rice Broocks -- author of the best seller God's Not Dead. Broocks said, "Maybe he was confusing that with the Batman character he played. I'm not sure where he got that and how he connected that to Moses."
Bale's comments are also outraging Chris Stone. Last year his organization, Faith Driven Consumer, campaigned against the biblical epic Noah starring Russell Crowe, urging christians to boycott it.
INSIDE EDITION's Megan Alexander asked, "Do you think that Christian Bale's comments will drive people away from this movie?"
"I do think that they will have a negative impact on ticket sales," replied Stone.
Charlton Heston is considered the iconic Moses of the movies.
Many are worried that Exodus will not be as reverent. Director Ridley Scott says the parting of the Red Sea is caused by an earthquake, not by God.
Murphy said, "To say that the Red Sea is parted by a earthquake and not by an act of God is ammunition for people who think that Hollywood is immoral."
Bale himself is no stranger to controversy. Remember his angry rant, secretly recorded on the set of 2009's Terminator Salvation? He shouted at a crew member, "Oh good for you. And how was it? I hope it was (blank) good because it's useles now isn't it?"
Now, many are saying the outspoken actor has gone too far by calling Moses "barbaric" and "schizophrenic."
