Could Justin Bieber be a curse to sports teams? Some fans think so after a run of bad luck to teams he visits. INSIDE EDITION looks at his track record.
Is Justin Bieber a jinx? It's no joke!
In a recent photo and video he was seen hanging out with members of the New England Patriots football team and the Twittersphere exploded with comments like, "If anyone gets hurt or the Patriots lose a game, it is your fault. You're a living curse."
George Stephanopoulos said on Good Morning America, “Justin Bieber really not getting a break in Boston right now. They really think he's bad luck for the Patriots!"
But why? Consider his history.
Last month, Bieber attended a Bible study with the Pittsburgh Steelers who then lost to the lowly New York Jets! In October, he cheered the New York Knicks basketball team on opening night and they got clobbered by the Chicago Bulls!
Sports fans are notoriously superstitious, as seen in the movie Silver Linings Playbook when Jennifer Lawrence defends herself against a bad luck accusation from fanatic fan Robert De Niro.
Bieber isn't the first celebrity to catch heat for bringing bad luck to a game. Supermodel Gisele Bundchen began dating her husband, Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, in 2006. Some blame her for the fact that he hasn't won a Super Bowl since!
Did Katy Perry jinx University of Oklahoma quarterback Trevor Knight with this emotional shout-out last October?
She said, “Trevor Knight, call me!”
Well, his team lost to Texas Christian University, and a few weeks later he was carried off the field with a neck injury.
So take heart Bieber, maybe your luck is about to turn.
