Miss Colombia took home the crown at this weekend's Miss Universe competition, but her win comes with controversy. INSIDE EDITION explains.
Eighty eight beauties from around the world competed over the weekend for the 61st Annual Miss Universe contest in Miami.
It was lucky Miss Colombia who took home the crown.
But not everyone was happy with the decision. Many thought Miss Jamaica should have taken home the award.
Twenty two-year-old Kaci Fennell struck everyone with her Halle Berry-style haircut and poise.
She said during her showcase, “Crime is a global phenomenon. It does not affect just one nation and we as people must work together to prevent it now.”
Boos from the crowd echoed as she was awarded fifth runner-up.
But the night's big winner was Miss Colombia. The 22-year-old, who studies business administration hails the Colombian city of Barranquilla and if that rings a bell, it's because another famous beauty is also from that very same city. Sofia Vergara, the gorgeous Modern Family star was a vision in red at the SAG Awards where she tweeted her congratulations to her fellow Colombian: “Barranquilla!!!!!! Miss Universe!!!!”
Miss USA Nia Sanchez came close to clinching the title but had to settle for second place.
