Allison Williams came to her embattled father's defense at an appearance in New York City and said his situation is taking a toll on the whole family. INSIDE EDITION has the details.
Brian Williams’ daughter is speaking out for the first time about the scandal swirling around him.
Actress Allison Williams came to her embattled dad's defense during an appearance with Late Night host Seth Meyers at New York City’s 92nd Street Y.
She said, “It's been tough though. Obviously, toughest on my dad, who has been bearing the full burden of responsibility for it. One thing the experience has not done is shake my trust and belief in him as a man. He's a really good man. He's an honest man. He's a truthful man. He has so much integrity. He cares so much about journalism.”
Allison recently played the lead in NBC's live broadcast of Peter Pan and co-stars in HBO's Girls.
She revealed that her wedding plans have been put on hold because of the scandal, which is taking a toll on her entire family.
“This has been a really hard time. We have also been feeling very lucky, counting our blessings. We have our health. We have each other,” she said.
Allison's mom, Jane, was also in the audience but didn't speak to reporters as they peppered her with questions.
There are many questions regarding whether Brian Williams will return as NBC anchor when he finishes his six month suspension without pay.
His daughter was warmly applauded when she said, “I can't wait until he is back on TV, and I know many of you guys feel that way.”
