A storm turned plans for a White House campout into a camp-in for 50 Girl Scouts.
It was the calm before the storm at the White House. "This is the first time we've ever done a campout on the South Lawn of the White House. You are making history," First Lady Michelle Obama said as she welcomed 50 excited Girl Scouts to the White House lawn.
The plan: to sleep under the stars.

But those plans quickly changed when a fierce storm swept through the nation's capital.
The girls were awakened at 1:30 a.m. and evacuated from the tents to a conference room in the Eisenhower Building next door to the White House. The campout became a camp-in.

One of the girls described how they were hustled inside. "It started raining at maybe 12:30, so we had to wake up and go inside," he told INSIDE EDITION’s Les Trent.
Even though they didn't sleep on the lawn, the girls got a chance to meet President Obama, who got mobbed with hugs.
