The small California donut shop that Ariana Grande apparently licked a donut in has been downgraded from an A to B rating following the incident.

The pop star is causing a huge uproar after licking a donut all caught on surveillance tape.

The problem for the little mom and pop shop, Wolfee Donuts in Lake Elsinore, California, is that the donuts had been left exposed on the counter. Reports even say the shops inspection rating has gone from an A to a B.
A spokesman says California health laws require restaurants to protect food from contact with the public.
INSIDE EDITION spoke to the donut shop owner and he told us his employee was moving so fast to help Grande, she didn't have time to put the donuts inside the display case.
The pop star isn't jumping up and down for joy today, instead she's trying to explain why she cursed and uttered an anti-American phrase. She says she was reacting to the tray of fattening donuts and that eating too much of this kind of stuff is bad for your health.
She said in a statement: “As an advocate for healthy eating, food is very important to me and I sometimes get upset by how freely we as Americans eat and consume things without giving any thought to the consequences that it has on our health and society as a whole. However I should have known better in how I expressed myself.”
In the statement, she also said: “In a statement, Grande said, “I am EXTREMELY proud to be an American and I've always made it clear that I love my county. That being said let me once again apologize if I have offended anyone with my poor choice of words.”
Many of her fans aren't buying it.
“She licked a donut. So rude and unsanitary. Then tried to make it into some obesity awareness situation,” went one tweet.
“Ariana is becoming super messy and problematic. She better fix this,” said another tweet.

The “Bang Bang” singer has pulled out of a high-profile appearance at the Major League Baseball All Star concert this coming weekend. Not because of the donut incident but because she had her wisdom teeth pulled.
The donut shop in Lake Elsinore has filed an official report with the Riverside Sheriff's Department.
"We are investigating," a spokesman told INSIDE EDITION.
