Frank, who was 23 years Kathie Lee's senior, passed away on August 9 at their home in Greenwich, Connecticut. He was 84.
Kathie Lee said they were getting ready for church when he died.
“He passed away instantly that morning in my favorite outfit – white shirt and very tight black jeans. He was having his coffee, watching TV and asking what was going to be for lunch,” she said.
As she teared up talking about her late husband, she said: “That was the way he wanted to go.”
Kathie Lee also shared details of his very humble beginnings. His upbringing “made him so grateful,” she said.
“He knew what it was like to be hungry. He knew what it was like to have no clothes on his back,” she said. “He’s the most grateful human being I’ve ever known. They had nothing but they had their faith.”
