Some neighbors have disputed the boy's account following the shooting in Missouri.
An 11-year-old boy shot dead an intruder after he was left home alone with his four-year-old sister, according to police in Missouri.
But some neighbors have disputed the account, according to local reports. Speaking to the St Louis Post-Dispatch, neighbors said they saw the shooting on Thursday afternoon and there wasn't a break-in.

"[The teenager] was always sitting on the porch, he never went inside the house," a neighbor told KMOV.
Police are still investigating to find out what happened. The 11-year-old boy is being questioned, according to reports.
Authorities said the 16-year-old boy, who has not been identified, was found dead inside the home in St Louis County. He had been shot in the head.
Police said he had previously tried to break into the home on two occasions that day.

A second person fled from the house but was found a short time later.
The 11-year-old boy and his little sister were unharmed.
The children's mother, who had bought the gun for protection, wasn't home during the incident but is cooperating with an investigation. It is not known why the children were left alone.
