Brian Williams fronted MSNBC's pontiff coverage seven months after being dropped from NBC's 'Nightly News.'
Brian Williams is back at the anchor desk with MSNBC.
It's been seven months since the disgraced anchorman was ousted from NBC’s Nightly News after grossly exaggerating his role in breaking news stories.
He now has a new title, "Breaking News Anchor" and his first role will be covering Pope Francis' historic visit to America.

Back in February, Williams surprised viewers by admitting he was not on board a U.S. Army helicopter forced down by enemy fire during the 2003 Iraq war. For years he said he was.
He came out and said: “I want to apologize. I said I was travelling in an aircraft that was hit by RPG fire. I was instead in a following aircraft.”
Williams, who had anchored Nightly News for 11 years, was suspended without pay. Lester Holt was named the new anchor.
Williams disappeared from the airwaves returning last June on the Today show where he sat down with Matt Lauer.
Lauer asked: “How have these last month’s been?”
Williams replied: “It has been torture but it has been necessary.”
Over the weekend, he walked his actress-daughter, Allison, down the aisle in a private wedding ceremony.
In an interview with the Washington Post, NBC News and MSNBC chairman Andrew Lack says Williams deserves to be back on the air.

He said: "I believe in second chances and I believe he can earn the trust of colleagues and viewers if we give him that chance. I thought he deserved it. From everything I can see and from my own observation over the years, viewers are a touch more forgiving than [journalists]. They can turn on the TV and come to their own conclusions about Brian."
This new role is a big step back for Williams, but it is where he began his career as an anchor way back in 1996.
