Doctors told the parents of a Florida infant that he would never speak, see or hear. Now, the baby is defying the odds in a new video.
A baby boy who was born missing part of his skull has said "hello" to his supporters in a charming new video.
Doctors gave little Jaxon Buell only a short time to live after he was born with a rare case of microhydranencephaly, a development abnormality that affects the brain. But the youngster, who is missing a large part of his brain and skull, defied doctors' expectations and celebrated his first birthday in August.
Last week, after news of his incredible milestone spread across the world, his parents shared a video of the baby boy saying hi to his supporters:
Doctors told the infant’s parents, Brandon and Brittany, that he would never speak, see or hear but Jaxon has defied all odds.

The parents set up a Facebook page called "Jaxon Strong" to inspire others and give updates on his condition. After Jaxon's first birthday, his dad wrote that it's a miracle that his son is still here, as strong as ever, and only dependent on a feeding tube.
Last month, Brandon gave an update on his baby’s prognosis and wrote: “Jaxon is still here with us, still learning, still developing, still thriving. He’s back to smiling at us, always so happy in the morning after he wakes up and takes turns looking at both Mommy’s and Daddy’s face, seemingly as if he is so excited to start another day.”
The parents have thanked people across the world for their support. They captioned his latest video by writing: "You can't see our shocked and happy expressions behind the camera, but we are super proud parents to be able to witness Jaxon speaking yet again.''
