A man who flushed $2.7 million worth of fake chips down a New Jersey casino toilet during a poker tournament has been sentenced to five years in prison, prosecutors said.
Christian Lusardi, 43, of North Carolina, had pleaded guilty in August to trademark counterfeiting and criminal mischief, Reuters reported.
Lusardi had flushed more than 500 phony poker chips down his hotel toilet while he was competing at last year’s “Winter Poker Open” at the Borgata Casino in Atlantic City

He flushed the fake chips in his room at Harrah’s Casino Hotel, causing a sewer line to leak, prosecutors said.
He has been ordered to pay $9,455 for plumbing damage to Harrah’s and $463,540 to Borgata for lost tournament revenue.
His attorney could not be reached for comment, the news agency reported.
