Billionaire White House hopeful Trump got his start in Manhattan with just a few bucks from his father, he revealed at a New Hampshire town hall on Monday.
Donald Trump revealed on Monday that he struggled to get his start as a Manhattan real estate mogul -- because all he had was a million dollars.
"It has not been easy for me, it has not been easy for me," Trump told Matt Lauer at a New Hampshire town hall. "And you know I started off in Brooklyn, my father gave me a small loan of a million dollars."

The billionaire made the odd decision to reveal the loan while trying to paint himself as a relatable everyman who wears blue jeans, drives cars and even dines at McDonald's from time to time.
A Twitter user asked the Republican frontrunner point blank during the sit-down with TODAY if he's ever dined at the fast food chain, if he'd ever worn jeans, and when the last time he drove his own car was.
"Yes. The McDonald's last night. The blue jeans, yes. And I drive a car," he said. "For me, a great luxury is to get into a car all by myself and I do drive whenever I can."

In answer to the car question, Trump told Lauer: "Probably a week ago."
In contrast, Trump's Democratic rival Hillary Clinton caused an uproar by admitting last year that she'd not gotten behind the wheel since the mid-1990s.
"The last time I actually drove a car myself was 1996, and I remember it very well," Clinton said. "Unfortunately, so does the Secret Service, which is why I haven't driven since then."
