A maintenance crew cleaning out what they thought was an empty Los Angeles apartment made a shocking discovery when they found a man’s body inside a refrigerator, according to reports.
The body was found around 10 a.m. Tuesday inside a second floor unit of a fourplex building on the 600 block of West 57th Street, KABC reported.

The unidentified man, who appeared to be in his 40s, is believed to have lived in the apartment, which had an eviction notice on the door.

There were no obvious signs of a break in, police told the Los Angeles Times.
Officials said they are working to learn how the man died and determine how long his body was in the refrigerator.
