Jelani Maraj, the older brother of rap star Nicki Menaj, has been charged with raping a child and sexual conduct against a child, according to records.
The elder brother of rap star Nicki Minaj has been charged with raping a child, according to online court documents.
Jelani Maraj, 37, was arraigned Thursday in New York’s Nassau County and released on $100,000 bail, the records show. A call placed by INSIDE EDITION TO Maraj’s attorney was not immediately returned.

According to reports, the child is 12.
The county prosecutor’s office said it would not release details about the case or the alleged victim.
Maraj was married in August to his longtime girlfriend Jacqueline Robinson in a lavish ceremony that his sister attended.
Minaj, 32, in an Instagram post from the wedding, gushed over her brother, writing “I would cross the ocean for u. I would go & bring for u. Promise u. For u I will … Tonight has been one of my favorite nights of all time.”

Maraj’s next court appearance is scheduled for Wednesday.
