Man Allegedly Receiving Oral Sex While Driving on Florida Highway Fatally Strikes Bicyclist

Deputies found the man's damaged and bloodied truck at a nearby bar.

A man who was receiving oral sex as he drove down a Florida highway fatally struck a bicyclist and continued on to a bar, where deputies found the man’s damaged and bloodied truck, according to reports.

Randy Joe Allen, 54, was charged with leaving the scene of a fatal crash and may face additional charges pending the results of a blood analysis after he hit a homeless man on a bike on U.S. Highway 92 West in Auburndale, the Polk County Sheriff’s Office said.

The victim, who was identified as 49-year-old Terry Lamunt, was riding on the highway’s shoulder when he was allegedly struck head-on by Allen’s green 2000 Ford F-250 pickup truck, the Orlando Sentinel reported.

The victim was thrown from his bike onto the shoulder of the roadway. Emergency responders rushed to the scene, but he could not be saved.

He was identified through fingerprint analysis and his family, who lived out-of-state, was notified of his death, police said.

Allen drove off, but a witness who stopped to check on the victim was able to give officers a description of the vehicle, including a partial license plate number, authorities said.

Officials tracked Allen’s license plate number to his home, where his family said he could probably be found at Liquid Larry’s Bar, the Sentinel wrote.

Deputies went to the bar, where they allegedly found Allen’s truck in the parking lot, with damage to the headlight assembly, the hood and the passenger side, and blood stains on the passenger side door, the paper reported.

Allen who was allegedly slurring his words and appeared to be drinking, reportedly told officers that he thought he had hit a stop sign, having been “distracted” by a “young lady” who he met at another bar.

It was not immediately clear if he had an attorney or if he had entered a plea.

“We would like to commend the witness who gave us the vehicle description, including partial tag number, and who stopped to render aid to the victim. This is another example of how, with the help of our community, that we are able to successfully solve crimes and put criminals in jail,” the Polk County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.
