The singing legend performed "Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)" on David Letterman's late-night show for 28 years.
Legendary singer Darlene Love is bringing her signature song “Christmas (Baby, Please Come Home)” to The View and INSIDE EDITION was backstage as she prepared for the show that airs Friday.

Will this be her new holiday home after more than two decades with David Letterman?
“That’s for them to decide,” she said.
For 28 years, it was a holiday tradition. She was invited every Christmas to The Late Show to sing her classic.
“I thought it was gonna be one time, and one time only, but when I found out it was David Letterman's favorite Christmas song, I went ‘wow,’ but still didn't have any idea I'd do it every year for 28 years,” she said.
Then, last December, the 74-year-old did it one final time for Letterman before he retired.

Following his retirement, she was left wondering if she would find a new home to sing her Christmas classic.
“We wanted it to be another special thing I did on another show, so when The View called, I said: ‘I don't care where we are or what we're doing, we gotta go do that show!’”
