A deaf man saved a deer's life after he noticed it struggling to survive after it fell into icy water.
Steven Peterson was driving over the Kettle River in Minnesota when he saw the animal stuck in an ice hole half a mile from the highway.
He pulled off the road and trekked into the woods to rescue the trapped deer.

Peterson created a selfie video explaining in American Sign Language what happened as the deer posed perfectly for his shot.c

“I pulled over, trekked through the woods, and crawled out onto the ice. I used a rope to pull her out. I am so glad she is safe,” Peterson signed, in a video by ViralHog.
The wild deer stuck around for the story and even allowed his rescuer to pet it.

A family friend of Peterson posted the video on Reddit, warming the hearts of thousands who applauded his kind gesture.
