Quentin Tarantino has called the Confederate Flag the "American Swastika."
The flag became the topic of heated debate after last summer’s shooting at the Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in South Carolina, where a white man shot members of a black congregation.

"All of a sudden, people started talking about the Confederacy in America in a way they haven’t before," he told The Telegraph. "I mean, I've always felt the Rebel flag was some American Swastika. And, well, now, all of a sudden, people are talking about it, and now they're banning it, and now it's not OK to have it on f***** license plates, and coffee cups, and stuff."
Tarantino is no stranger to controversy. In October, he sparked uproar after he spoke at a police protest in New York City.

“I'm a human being with a conscience and if you believe there's murder going on then you need to rise up and stand up against it," the Oscar winner said at the time. "I'm here to say I'm on the side of the murdered."
The police union vowed to boycott his films and protest outside The Hateful Eight. The movie, which opened on Christmas Day, has only grossed $16.2 million.
