An adorable baby gorilla at a Seattle zoo has captured the hearts of many after footage of her first checkup with a veterinarian was posted online.

The Woodland Park Zoo said the unnamed baby girl now weighs 7 pounds, has a healthy appetite and doing well.
The baby is currently being given round-the-clock care from zookeepers after her mother, Nadiri, "did not show appropriate maternal behaviors" after the birth. The infant and her mother have been interacting daily, under the supervision of zookeepers.

“As she grows, her little leg muscles are starting to develop and that means baby has now hit another milestone: she's starting to crawl!” the zoo wrote in a blog. “She can only cover short distances, but with the way she now holds her head steady and is starting to really take in her surroundings, she'll be an explorer soon."
