Jersey City authorities have released photos of a homeless man who was put in a coma by a hit-and-run driver earlier this month.

Photos of a homeless man who was put into a coma earlier this month by an alleged hit-and-run driver were released in the hope the unidentified man's friends or family might come forward.
The 60-year-old was struck on Jan. 10 at 3:45 a.m. and has been unresponsive and in critical condition ever since.

A spokesman at Jersey City Medical Center-Barnabas Health told the Jersey Journal this week that family members could have medical information about the victim that might lead to better medical treatment.
Twenty-nine-year-old Maryland man Derek Walker has been charged with leaving the scene of an accident in connection with the incident.
Should the man take a turn for the worse, authorities say Walker could face more serious charges.
This is the second time the hospital has issued a public plea for help identifying the man.

No photo was released with the first plea and no one came forward with information.
Due to privacy laws, officials had to wait for police to approve the use of photos of the man to be shared with media.
