A 28-year-old Iowa, man who was arrested during a Donald Trump rally after allegedly throwing tomatoes at the candidate, has been charged.
An Iowa man has been charged after allegedly throwing tomatoes at Donald Trump during a Tuesday rally.
Andrew Joseph Alemao was charged with disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor punishable by a fine up to $625 or 30 days in jail if he's convicted.
"Alemao, 28, was arrested by University of Iowa Police for Disorderly Conduct after he was observed throwing two tomatoes at Republican Presidential candidate Donald Trump during a speech," according to a news release from the college.

The rally was held in Iowa City less than a week before the Iowa Caucus, and drew of a crowd of around 1,000 people, reports the Press-Citizen.

The Secret Service helped take Alemao into custody and he was booked at the Johnson County Jail, where he was released with no bond on Wednesday.
While tossing tomatoes is unusual for a Trump rally, protests are not.
Earlier this month, a Trump rally in Vermont was disrupted by protesters who managed to make their way in despite the campaign's attempt to screen them out.

Prior to the Jan. 8 Burlington event, attendees were asked whether or not they support Trump. Those who said no were booted from the event.
Trump later defended the controversial decision, describing it as a matter of loyalty.
"We have more than 20,000 people that showed up for 1,400 spots. I'm taking care of my people, not people who don't want to vote for me or are undecided. They are loyal to me and I am loyal to them," he said in a statement.
