A Washington D.C. family says their grandmother’s body was nowhere to be found when they arrived at her viewing and instead found a different deceased woman in her casket, according to reports.
Virginia Gray, 83, passed away peacefully on Feb. 19 when she lost consciousness at her home and was taken to Prince George’s Hospital Center, where she died.

The lifelong D.C. resident left behind a brother, a daughter, three grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, who prepared to say goodbye to Gray at her viewing at Horton’s Funeral Home in Northwest last Friday.
But instead of find their beloved relative, Gray’s family said an unknown woman was in her casket, wearing the clothes they provided to the funeral home, they told NBC Washington.

“I saw the body of another female that wasn’t my grandmother,” family member Tawana Murphy told the news station. “My heart dropped. I was in disbelief.”
