The bird was unable to fly when it was spotted walking in the woods by an eagle-eyed neighbor.
Maryland cops documented the moment they saved an injured bald eagle they later named "Trust."

Animals Services Division Officer Jennifer Gill headed to the area and met with the neighbor, according to the Montgomery County Police Department's Facebook page.
She managed to catch the bird, and wrapped it in towels. Gill transported the eagle to a wildlife rehabilitation center specializing in birds of prey.
"Initial evaluation by personnel at Owl Moon Raptor Center indicated that the eagle has a soft tissue injury," police said. "It appeared as if the injury was new as the eagle was a healthy weight."

Staff at the center believe Trust was hit by a car while she gnawed at prey on the side of a road. She had internal bleeding and a shoulder injury, but is now on the mend. After the bird has been rehabilitated, she will be released into the wild.
In a Facebook post, the center thanked Gill "for going the extra mile to rescue this gorgeous creature."
