The boy found the contractor’s truck parked on a residential street with the keys in it and drove it onto a highway, where he was pulled over for speeding, then took off, according to the Dodge County, Minnesota, Sheriff’s Office.
For 70 minutes, the child blew through Dodge Center as state and local law enforcement agencies gave chase, the sheriff’s department said.
“I betcha he drove around town six or seven times,” resident Troy Flatness told KARE-TV. “He was smiling, hooting and hollering … he was having a good time.”
Footage shared by KTTC shows the cement truck speeding along the roads.
The kid side-swiped two law enforcement vehicles as he reached speeds of 70 mph, cops said.
Town residents took images of the speeding cement truck as it zoomed through the streets. The boy drove across a spiked strip laid across a roadway by authorities, blew a tire, but kept driving until the tire started smoking and blew off the rim, the sheriff's department said.
The child pulled to a stop on a dead-end street, jumped from the cab and ran, but was caught by deputies, they said.
