Mother Jessica Heinonen, along with her baby Anabelle, met with heroic store clerk Rebecca Montano, who said the whole situation “scared the daylights out of me.”
In surveillance footage captured by Alta convenience store cameras, Montano jumped into action to grab the child before her mother collapsed on the ground as she suffered a seizure.
“I was really glad she grabbed Anabelle,” Heinonen said. “It was really hard not to be able to say anything. I was freaking out having her in my arms.”
The mother says she's epileptic and has had seizures her entire life, but this time it was different.
“Usually I get some kind of warning or some kind of signal,” she said. “One minute I’m getting a drink and the next thing you know I’m in the ambulance.”
The clerk is being hailed as hero, but she feels guilty for not also being able to keep the baby's mom from falling.

“I felt bad because she fell and I thought ‘Oh my God, I couldn’t grab Jessica because I still had Annabelle.’”
But Heinonen didn’t want Montano to feel bad, saying: “Of course she is a hero. I very much appreciate it. You can tell she's a very caring, sweet person.”
