After the City Library of Perth stated that only children aged 12-18 could attend, adults took to their Facebook page to voice their complaints.
A library in Australia was forced to postpone a Harry Potter event after hundreds of adults complained about being excluded.

The City Library of Perth announced that they were hosting a Harry Potter-themed night at the end of the month. According to WA Today, the event invited teenagers to enjoy a night of potion classes and offered them a chance to get to know local owls.
At the bottom of the Facebook event page wrote: "Strictly AGES 12-18."
Even though more than 11,000 people expressed interest in the event, the City Library of Perth was firm in its stance.
Local adults were outraged, claiming that "true fans" who grew up with the books are in their 20s and 30s.
"Age limit seems a bit draconian, who's running this thing? Snape?" one fan commented.
Another wrote: "That's preposterous and as Draco Malfoy would say 'My father will hear about this.'"
"NO FAIR!!! I even have a full Hufflepuff Uniform!" a 40-year-old fan wrote.
One over-aged fan even quoted J.K. Rowling in her comment: "The stories we love best do live in us forever. So whether you come back by page or by the big screen, Hogwarts will always be there to welcome you home."

Some fans who have children of their own even complained that the age range is too high, and their children under 12 would be excluded from the opportunity too.
One woman said her 11-year-old daughter was disappointed she would not be receiving her acceptance letter.
During the influx of disappointed messages, the City of Perth Library posted a clip from the first Harry Potter movie, where the home is bombarded with acceptance letters from Hogwarts.

In light of the overwhelming interest, the City of Perth Library ultimately decided to postpone the event, telling patrons that, "the Harry Potter event has been postponed and we are looking at how we can accommodate many more witches, wizards, muggles and their families."
They invited fans to keep their eye out for the Owl Postal Service for further updates to the event.
