Ron is releasing his memoir, Ruthless: Scientology, My Son David Miscavige, and Me, next week but his son is threatening to sue him for defamation for the book. A lawyer for the church calls the memoir "a betrayal" and says Ron Miscavige is just trying to make a quick buck.
But Remini, who left the controversial religion in 2013, told ABC News the older Miscavige "has a right to tell his story.”
“I called him and I offered my support because I know he must have felt alone," she said. "I just wanted him to know that we were willing to take them in. There is no place for them to go unless they have family outside of the church, which is very rare."
In the book, 80-year-old Ron says his son went from "lovable kid" to the "ruthless" leader of Scientology.
Ron is the second close relative of David to denounce him. His niece, Jenna Miscavige Hill, wrote her own family expose in 2013, Beyond Belief: My Secret Life Inside Scientology and My Harrowing Escape.
"He's already torn his family apart,” she told IE. “That's just disgusting." In the past, the church has also denied her allegations.

The leader of Scientology, 55, was best man at two of Tom Cruise's weddings -- to Nicole Kidman and Katie Holmes. In the world of Scientology, he is known as the Chairman of the Board or “Cob.”
But he's not the only family member to disapprove of his father's book.
Two of Ron’s daughters say in a joint statement: "Our father beat our mother senseless in drunken tirades, averaging two violent attacks with his fists per week."
Speaking to ABC, Ron Miscavige called the claims “a flat-out lie."
