Tragic Prom Night Crash Leaves Two Teen Girls Dead

New Jersey high school student Daisia Sulton, 17, and passenger Mikayla Mosley, 15, were killed Saturday night when their car hit a tree.

Two teenage girls are dead after a prom night drive turned deadly in New Jersey on Saturday.

Daisia Sulton, the 17-year-old driver, and passenger Mikayla Mosley, 15, were pronounced dead at the scene just hours after they celebrated their prom at a Pittsgrove Township country club.

The girls, who were students at Bridgeton High School, were with two other girls who were seriously injured when Sulton reportedly lost control of her PT Cruiser while going through a curve at about 3:45 a.m.

Authorities believe the girls, as well as another car full of boys, were returning home from a post-prom party they attended in Ocean City, according to NJ.com.

Bridgeton schools superintendent Thomasina Jones said the deceased girls were in 10th and 11th grades.

"Our hearts and prayers go out to the families and certainly we are praying for the two students who are in the hospital right now. We want them to pull through and recover from the crash," Jones said.

A cause of the crash has not yet been determined.

Jones said crisis counselors would be on hand at the school on Monday. She also said the school district intends to help raise funds to pay for the girls' burials.
