Timmy Kelly, 23, was greeted by Joe Biden before his performance of the "Star-Spangled Banner" at the Wells Fargo Center.
The Philadelphia native was hugged by the vice president who told him: “I am so proud of you.”
Following the embrace, the young man told Inside Edition that the chance to meet Biden was “incredible” and “it was such a special experience. I am so honored.”
Kelly, known locally as “Philadelphia’s little good luck charm,” performs at Eagles games, and the football squad has a winning record after Kelly performs.
Biden, a lifelong Eagles fan himself, told Kelly: “I wish they were playing as well as your singing.”
The voice major from Temple University’s Boyer College of Music serenaded the delegates on the convention floor.
He told Inside Edition that the opportunity to sing at the DNC was a “special experience.”
