A South Carolina holy man allegedly admitted to a sex crime by calling a sex abuse center and was arrested Tuesday in Greenville.
A South Carolina pastor was arrested this week after cops say he called a sexual abuse center to report his own underage sex offense.
James Brian Briley was the campus pastor at the Summit Church in Greenville for four years prior to his arrest for alleged Criminal Sexual Conduct with a Minor on Tuesday.
Police said in a release Thursday that the Julie Valentine Center, a non-profit that provides assistance to victims of abuse, contacted the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office to report that Briley had called their hotline to report he'd committed a crime against a child.

The center is required by law to report crimes against children to police.
Investigators with the Crimes Against Children Unit learned that on July 31, 2016, Briley had inappropriately touched and molested a 12 year-old female, while at his residence, police said in a statement.
According to the arrest warrant, the victim gave authorities details of what happened before Briley confirmed what the victim before adding additional details.

Briley was arrested and taken to the Greenville County Detention Center, where he was later released on a $25,000 bond.
Investigators are seeking to publicize this as they believe there might be additional victims and would ask that, if there are indeed additional victims, to please contact Investigators at (864) 467-4704.
Officials with the Summit Church say Briley has been fired. In a statement, church elders wrote:
“We are deeply saddened by the events that have unfolded this week. As of Tuesday, August 2, Brian Briley has been removed from all leadership and his position as Elder and campus pastor has been terminated. The Elders of Summit Church desire to be fully transparent in this matter. However, we also desire to honor the legal process. In the interest of privacy laws associated with these types of cases for victims of sexual assault, we are unable to give any further details at this point."
