The settlement comes just one day after shocking video obtained by TMZ showing the 52-year-old actor going berserk on his 32-year-old wife.
The estranged couple have settled their divorce for a reported $10 million.
A photo leaked Monday was said to be the last straw for the Edward Scissorhands actor.
It shows the words “Starring Billy Bob And Easy Amber” scrawled on a mirror. Depp allegedly cut his finger and dipped it in blue paint to write the message after he suspected Heard was having a romance with actor Billy Bob Thornton, with whom she appears in the forthcoming film, London Fields.
Thornton and Heard both deny the allegation.
The last-minute settlement was reached a day before the feuding couple was set to appear in court.
The agreement reportedly calls for Heard to withdraw allegations that Depp physically abused her. The temporary restraining order against him will also be dismissed.
The ugly split had been a public relations nightmare for Depp after the actress appeared outside court with bruises allegedly inflicted by Depp.
Heard and Depp, who were married for just 15 months, released this statement: "Our relationship was intensely passionate and at times volatile, but always bound by love. Neither party has made false accusations for financial gains. There was never an intent of physical or emotional harm."
The couple met while making 2011's The Rum Diary. At the time, Depp was with partner of 14 years Vanessa Paradis. Depp and Paradis separated in 2012 and have two kids, Lily-Rose, 17, and Jack, 14.
