The two locked horns on the social network.
Justin Bieber has deleted his Instagram account following an online spat with ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez.
His announcement came after her fans lashed out at the Canadian singer for posting photos with new girlfriend Sofia Richie — daughter of music icon Lionel Richie.

Gomez chimed in with a message on his account that said: “If you can't handle the hate then stop posting pictures of your girlfriend lol — it should be special between you two only. Don't be mad at your fans. They love you. They were there for you before anyone."
"It's funny to see people that used me for attention and still try to point the finger this way. Sad. All love," Bieber countered.
It escalated as she posted: "Funny how the ones that cheated multiple times, are pointing the finger at the ones that were forgiving and supportive, no wonder fans are mad. Sad. All love."
She then had second thoughts about her criticism and posted: "What I said was selfish and pointless."

But the damage had been done, and Bieber shut down his Instagram, leaving his 77 million followers disappointed.
Before deleting the account, the “Sorry” singer said to his fans about the hateful messages: “I'm gonna make my Instagram private if you guys don't stop the hate. This is getting out of hand, if you guys are really fans you wouldn't be so mean to people that I like."
