An Oklahoma mom’s fear soon turned to embarrassment after she received a phone call from her son’s principal about a "special treat" the boy had stashed in his backpack.
Oklahoma City native Ladye Hobson, feared the worst when she recently received the call on her cell phone, with her mind starting to race as she wondered what could have possibly happened to her 8-year-old son, Brylen.

“She called me and told me that Brylen had made her day,” Hobson told InsideEdition.com. “I asked if it was good news but she said, 'not exactly.'"
According to Hobson, little Brylen stuck a dead squirrel inside his $50 Pottery Barn backpack she bought him two months ago.
“I was completely embarrassed to say the least,” Hobson said. “Brylen was inside her office so she had to hold her laughter. I wanted to crawl into a hole.”

When the principal asked why Brylen placed the squirrel in his backpack, his answer was hilariously shocking: “I really wanted squirrel dumplings for dinner.”
Although his teacher was not amused, the principal couldn’t contain her laughter.
Hobson arrived to the school three hours later, finding her little explorer in tears and very apologetic.
“I smiled at him and told him he got a free pass on this one,” said Hobson.
In an article on HerReviewFromHome.com, the mortified mom wrote that she will never cook squirrel dumplings for her family.
As for the squirrel, it’s buried away inside a Dumpster, free from dumplings and kids everywhere.
