Ryan Stanislaw was arrested Saturday after cops say a sleeping man was nearly shot with "Zombie Max" .223 caliber rifle bullets.
A man was arrested Saturday after cops say he fired a rifle into the darkness in his Minnesota neighborhood, nearly striking a man who was asleep in his own bed.
When they responded, police in the town of North St. Paul, said they were told by suspect Ryan Stanislaw that he was simply trying to keep the area safe from "a zombie."

According to a criminal complaint obtained by WCCO, Stanislaw even had ammo specifically for the job.
Cops say his rifle was loaded with Hornady brand "Zombie Max" bullets, the novelty packaging for which touts "each round is loaded with a special, neon green, polymer-tipped Z-Max bullet that delivers devastating expansion and was specifically designed for zombie elimination."
Police were called around 5 a.m. when a neighbor called to report he was awakened by the sound of a gun and the shattering of his window. Authorities believe a bullet went through his window, ricocheted near his head then struck a wall.
When they arrived, cops say Stanislaw was nearby with an AR-15 style rifle slung over his back.
"I’m out here making sure my neighborhood is safe," he allegedly told officers. "I didn’t see the cops, so I figured I’d do something."
Cops say Stanislaw smelled of alcohol, according to the complaint.
The complaint said Stanislaw’s mother told police her son doesn’t have a history of mental illness.
