"Goes to show you're never too old for a teddy bear," wrote the Mare and Foal Sanctuary, which provided Breeze the foal round-the-clock care as a baby.
This horse found comfort in a giant teddy bear when he was just a baby, and it's as if no time has passed now that the pair have been reunited — three years later.

"It was like they had never been apart," the Mare and Foal Sanctuary in England wrote on their Facebook. "Goes to show you're never too old for a teddy bear."
Breeze the foal arrived at the rescue in England just hours after he was born. He was rejected by his mother, and would have no chance of survival had rescuers not provided him with round-the-clock care.
At 10 days old, rescuers paired him with a giant teddy bear, named Buttons, and immediately, Breeze could be seen curled up in its lap. Buttons appeared to take on the role of the horse's surrogate mother, and constant companion.
Breeze soon grew out of the stuffed animal, and eventually settled into a larger herd, where he spends his days playing with other young horses, according to a press release.
"Breeze can be a little scamp, normally when you are not paying him enough attention," said Nicola, the deputy yard manager at the sanctuary, according to Facebook. "He loves nothing more than laying his head on your shoulder and having a snooze. Sometimes he can get a little too playful and forgets that you're not as big as he is."
Although Breeze didn't need the bear any longer, the sanctuary kept Buttons to hand off to other rescue horses in need of affection.
Three years later, rescuers decided to reintroduce the bear to Breeze.
"There was a lot of sniffing and licking, then Breeze decided to give Buttons a tour of his new stable and carried him around by his ear," Nicola said. "They then snuggled up together and Breeze snoozed the afternoon away."

According to the press release, the rescue plans to rehouse Breeze once he is ready to separate from the sanctuary but, "we couldn't be prouder of how far he's come," they wrote.
