Bear, a black lab mix, was taken to Good Morning America and Inside Edition Friday where everyone who laid eyes on him fell in love.
When animal-lover Ricky Gervais saw Bear on GMA set he was immediately smitten.
“I am not leaving until we get a phone call so this guy is adopted," the British comic said. "He was chained up for 15 years!"
"So loving, he is so full of life," the Extras added. "I don’t understand animal cruelty. "This dog is man’s best friend. He was chained for 15 years and has forgiven us.”
Bear was showered with love when he arrived at the Inside Edition office.
The dog was set free by Guardians of Rescue, the hosts of Animal Planet's The Guardians.
They say a tip led them to the backyard in Long Island, New York, where they found Bear with the heavy metal chain around his neck. Bear's owner agreed to give him up.
They told Inside Edition there was a 35-pound chain that he dragged around for all that time.
"Imagine dragging that around for 15 years in the freezing cold and hundred degree weather," said Brian Sperazza, one of the "Guardians."
One of Bear's first stops after his release from captivity was a beach, where the pooch enjoyed the ocean water and sand for the first time in his life.
The Guardians of Rescue said Bear is up for adoption and they are now going to look for the right home. for the special canine.
The Guardians airs Saturdays at 10/9c on Animal Planet.
