Oprah Winfrey is heading back to the news biz, joining 60 Minutes as a contributor.

Winfrey’s best friend, Gayle King, broke the news on CBS This Morning Tuesday.
“It's been very hard to keep a secret,” she said. “I am so psyched about it and I know that she is equally excited.”
The media mogul says she's been a "big admirer" of 60 Minutes since her days as a rising reporter in Nashville.
Winfrey was just 19 years old when she got her start with as a reporter at WLAC-TV in 1973. From there, she moved to Baltimore to co-host her first talk show, People Are Talking.
She went on to launch The Oprah Winfrey Show in 1986 and it became the most successful talk show of all time.

Now, the billionaire is excited to return to her roots.
"I’m so excited and proud to join forces with this historic news program, which for me represents the bastion of journalistic storytelling," she said in a statement.
