The president said the Oscar ceremony went awry because presenters were too focused on bashing him.
President Trump said Oscar presenters should have been more focused on entertainment and less obsessed with belittling him, according to conservative website Breitbart News.
“I think they were focused so hard on politics that they didn’t get the act together at the end,” Trump said. “It was a little sad. It took away from the glamour of the Oscars,” he said of Sunday’s Best Picture mix-up.

Presenters Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway mistakenly announced “La La Land” as winner of the Oscar for best film, but the statue was really meant for “Moonlight.”
“I’ve been to the Oscars,” Trump told Breitbart. “There was something very special missing, and then to end that way was very sad.”
Until Sunday night’s snafu, the televised ceremony was full of calls for unity and barbs directed at the Oval Office.
Host Jimmy Kimmel kicked off the night by noting Trump’s feud with Meryl Streep, who called out Trump during the Golden Globes for mocking a disabled journalist.
Trump tweeted that Streep was an “overrated” actress.

“Meryl Streep has phoned it in for more than 50 films over the course of her lackluster career,” Kimmel joked. “She wasn’t even in a movie this year. We just wrote her name in out of habit.”
Later in the night, he wondered why Trump had tweeted at him during the ceremony. So he took out his phone and typed to the president’s Twitter feed, “U up?”
