Just days before spring officially begins, a pair of baby meerkats are peeking out of their burrows for the first time since they were born last month.
These meerkat pups can’t seem to wait any longer to bask in the spring sun.

Just days before spring officially begins, the pair of baby meerkats have been peeking out of their burrows for the first time since they were born at the Brevard Zoo in Florida nearly a month ago.
The pups, whose genders are still undetermined, were born to their mother Kiki, and have spent the first weeks of their lives underground.

The pair was joined by other meerkats in their exhibit and zoo officials say the group will take turns caring for the newborns in the months to come, characteristic of their highly social personalities.
