Jacob Staudenmaier, who's from the Oscar winner's hometown of Scottsdale, Ariz., recreated the opening scene of the popular film to get her attention.
That adorable La La Land-inspired promposal from an Arizona high school student has generated quite a response, including one from Emma Stone , the film's star and intended recipient.

Jacob Staudenmaier, a teen from the Oscar winner’s hometown of Scottsdale, Ariz., recreated the opening scene of the popular film in a creative bid to get the actress' attention.
And that's exactly what it did, and Stone loved it. She tracked down the teenager, who resembles her La La Land co-star Ryan Gosling, and wrote an email thanking him.
“Jacob! Thanks for making the greatest proposal I’ve ever received. I can't tell you what an honor that was and how much I smiled through that entire beautifully orchestrated video. I'm in London working but I hope you have the best time at prom and I’m grateful you thought of me. Thank you!
PS. I do see "Gosling" around the eyes. Love, Emma," she wrote.

The teen, who wants to be a filmmaker someday, managed to find another date, escorting a friend to the upcoming dance.
"It feels pretty good" to hear from Stone "even though it’s a no — it’s the best no I could ever receive," he said.
