The cause of death remains undetermined.
A 3-year-old girl has died during a routine dental procedure in California, and her parents are now searching for answers, reports said.
Daleyza Avila-Hernandez was reportedly undergoing a recommended surgery to have two teeth removed and two teeth capped at Children's Dental Surgery Center in Stockton when she died, according to KTVU.

"All I did was I took my daughter to the dentist because they were going to fix her teeth and about 30 minutes later they brought her back dead," Araceli Avila, Daleyza’s mother, told KTVU.
Avila told the station that she wasn’t allowed into the room while the surgery was taking place, but an hour into the procedure she saw an ambulance arrive.
“And I stood up and went outside because I was like, they are coming for a kid, but I never thought it was for my child," Avila told KTVU.
Avila later found out that her daughter’s heart had stopped during the simple procedure, reports said.
“The nurse said my daughter’s heart stopped, but she was stable and not to worry and told me my daughter has heart problems that maybe I didn’t know of, but that’s not true,” Avila told CBS Sacramento. “My daughter was very healthy.”
Avila’s parents said they are still not sure how their daughter died.
A representative for the Children’s Dental Surgery Center told the station that the situation is not an easy thing to deal with.
“I've been doing this for almost 10 years now; I've never had a situation like this," says David Thompson, the administrator of the facility. "We're committed to helping kids every single day. That's our mission, that's why we're here. It's risky; not everyone wants to do it.”
Thompson said at every surgery there's one dentist, an anesthesiologist and two assistants, according to reports.
Stockton police are reportedly investigating the death. Daleyza's official cause of death has not yet been released, according to reports.
